Veteran and celebrated film director Guillermo del Toro has commented on the moviemaking process, saying it’s like “eating a sandwich of sh**.”

Speaking to the audience at the Annecy animation festival this week, del Toro said Hollywood is “geared toward grinding out sh** and destroying your art,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. He added that he continues to have his pitches rejected, despite being an accomplished, Oscar-winning director.

“They still say no to me. In the last two months, they said no to five of my projects. So it doesn’t go away. Making movies is eating a sandwich of sh**,” he said. “There’s always sh**, just sometimes you get a little more bread with yours. The rate of productivity against your efforts will remain frustratingly difficult, and frustratingly long. And you will always encounter assholes. But have faith in the stories you want to tell and wait until someone wants to buy them.”

Nintendo is working on a fix for a Metroid Dread bug that can prevent players from progressing through the Switch game. Nintendo will release a patch for Dread by the end of October that addresses this–and in the meantime, a workaround is available, thankfully.
